Get the most out of Os X El Capitan with this smart person's guide

While it may not seem like it, Apple updates its operating system every year (or two). And with the release of OS X El Capitan, a lot of people are wondering how to get the most out of their new software. Luckily, there are plenty of apps you can use to optimize your experience and get everything you need from your new OS. Here’s our guide to getting the most out of OS X El Capitan.

How to use widgets

Widgets are one of the best features of OS X El Capitan. They allow you to have quick access to information and tools right from your desktop. Here’s how to make the most out of widgets

1) Drag a widget to the Desktop: To create a new widget, just drag it to the Desktop. If you want to put an existing widget on your Desktop, just drag it there.

2) Organize your widgets by dragging them: If you have more than one widget on your Desktop, drag them around until they’re in the order that makes sense for you. You can also drag a widget all the way up or down into a folder if it doesn’t belong there.

How to customize your desktop

First, decide what kind of look you want for your desktop. Do you want a clean and simple look, or something more funky and unique? Once you’ve decided on a general aesthetic, you can start customizing your desktop to fit your needs.

1) To change your wallpaper, click Desktop in the top left corner of your screen. Select Change Desktop Background from the drop-down menu that appears. You’ll see a window pop up with different categories of wallpapers to choose from: Dynamic Desktop Patterns, Photos, Solid Colors, Nature Patterns, Abstract Patterns. Clicking any one will take you to another window where you can preview each option before making your selection. Clicking the image will set it as your background!

2) Next is choosing where the Finder lives on your desktop.

How to work faster on a Mac

There are lots of ways to work faster on a Mac, and many of them are hidden in plain sight. Here are five tips to help you get the most out of your Mac .

1) Reduce clutter by putting apps that you don’t use all the time into virtual storage called Stacks.

2) Turn off app notifications when they’re not needed, so they don’t constantly distract you.

3) Remove non-essential items from your Dock – they will still be accessible by clicking the Finder icon in the Dock or swiping right on trackpad.

How to organize your apps in folders

You can organize your apps in folders on your Mac to keep them tidy and easy to find. Here’s how Open a Finder window, then click File and select New Folder or press Shift-Command-N. Drag any app icon from the sidebar into your new folder, then click the x at the top left corner of that folder to close it up. Now when you need to open an app, just click its icon within that folder rather than having to scroll through a list.

How to get more done in less time

  1. To get more done in less time, you need to be organized and have a plan for your day. Breaking down your tasks into smaller, manageable pieces will help you stay on track and avoid feeling overwhelmed.
  2. Use a calendar or to-do list to keep track of what needs to be done and when. This will help you prioritize your time and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
  3. Learn to say no. The number one reason people don’t get things done is because they are trying to do too much at once. When you can’t say no, your personal life suffers and so does your work. Saying no also prevents guilt from taking over because you know that it doesn’t feel good to constantly push yourself past your limits.
  4. Clear distractions. When you’re working on something, take away any potential distractions by turning off your phone and TV, putting headphones in if needed, or finding a place where there aren’t many people around. Your goal should be to focus solely on the task at hand without any outside influences getting in the way.

How to run multiple applications side by side

OS X El Capitan lets you run multiple applications side by side in full screen mode. To do this, simply click on the green button in the top left corner of any application window. This will cause the window to expand to fill your entire screen. To add another application to run alongside it, simply drag its icon from the Dock and drop it onto your screen. You can adjust how much space each application takes up by dragging the dividing line between them.

How to add personalization effects

Os X El Capitan comes with a variety of built-in personalization options that can be easily accessed and customized to your liking. To add personalization effects:

  1. Open System Preferences and click on Desktop & Screen Saver.
  2. Select the type of effect you want to use from the list on the left, then click on the Personalize button in the center of the screen.
  3. You’ll see all available effects for the chosen category – choose one and move it up or down in the order so it will appear first when your desktop appears next time.
